How We Serve

Engineered for the test equipment buyer

Test systems and equipment OEMs need a contract manufacturer who can handle the iteration cycles inherent to test equipment programs: rapid prototyping, design iteration, NPI from concept to production, and DFM input from a fab floor that sees thousands of similar designs. SPM brings all of these — plus AWS D1.3 certified welding for structural test frames, IPC-A-610-trained wire splicing for populated test cabinets, and in-house powder coating for durable finishes. Our value-added services team supports NPI, DFM, and rapid prototyping, with our FasTrak system measuring lead time in days from drawing release to first-article delivery.

Use Cases

What SPM builds for test equipment programs

Bench Fixtures

Bench test fixtures and engineering frames

Precision sheet metal and CNC-machined bench test fixtures, engineering frames, and calibration stands. Tight tolerances for repeatable measurement; tooling-grade construction.

Production Test

Production test cabinets and ATE chassis

Welded sheet metal cabinets and 19″ rack-mount chassis for production test equipment and Automated Test Equipment (ATE). IPC-A-610-trained population for installed test electronics; powder-coat finish.

Calibration

Custom calibration and verification enclosures

Sheet metal enclosures and cabinetry for custom calibration equipment, metrology stands, and verification systems. Includes optical-grade flat surfaces and stable mounting platforms.

Certifications

Built to the standards test programs require

ISO 9001 AWS D1.3 IPC-A-610 ANSI/ESD S20.20 — Not Held

SPM is ISO 9001 certified. For test systems and equipment work, our scope spans bench fixtures, production test cabinets, ATE chassis, and custom calibration enclosures. AWS D1.3 welding and IPC-A-610 wire splicing apply to populated test fixtures. For applications requiring ESD-controlled assembly environments, we can support partial ESD precautions but do not currently hold formal ANSI/ESD S20.20 certification. For full ESD-certified manufacturing, we can refer.

FAQ

Frequently asked

What does SPM build for test systems and equipment OEMs?
Bench test fixtures and engineering frames, production test cabinets and ATE chassis, and custom calibration and verification enclosures. NPI, DFM, and FasTrak rapid prototyping support from our value-added services team.
Does SPM hold ANSI/ESD S20.20 for ESD-controlled assembly?
No. SPM is ISO 9001 certified company-wide and our wire splicing/soldering is IPC-A-610 trained. We can support partial ESD precautions on a per-project basis but do not currently hold formal ANSI/ESD S20.20 certification for ESD-controlled manufacturing environments. For full ESD-certified work, we can refer.
Can SPM support NPI and DFM for test equipment programs?
Yes. SPM’s value-added services include New Product Introduction (NPI) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) — our engineering team reviews customer designs for problem points or opportunities for failure during early design, and proposes solutions before production. The FasTrak system measures lead time in days, from drawing release to first-article delivery.
What finishes does SPM offer for production test equipment?
Powder coat is applied in-house, with custom colors including high-visibility safety yellow for production test floor visibility. Per-project specifications and masked-area support are available.
