Certifications
Certified. And scope-honest about what we don’t hold.
SPM is ISO 9001 certified company-wide. Below: what that certification covers, the other quality systems we operate, and the certifications we do not currently hold — so you can scope your project against the right manufacturer up front.
Our Primary Certification
ISO 9001 certified company-wide.
ISO 9001 is the international standard for quality management systems, defining requirements for consistent product quality and continuous improvement. Manufacturers certified to ISO 9001 operate documented, audited processes that drive repeatable output across every production line.
SPM’s certification is company-wide. Every part SPM ships passes the same documented process controls before leaving the floor — across precision sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining, welding, electro-mechanical assembly, powder coating, and our value-added services. We do not operate uncertified production lines.
Certifying body and current certification cycle: contact us for documentation. Our quality team maintains the audit trail and can supply certificates of compliance for customer documentation requirements.

ISO 9001
International quality management systems standard. SPM's certification is company-wide and covers every production capability.
Applies to:
All industries.
AWS D1.3 Sheet Steel
American Welding Society Structural Welding Code for sheet steel. SPM's welding department is certified to AWS D1.3 with qualified welders for procedure and welder qualification requirements.
Applies to:
Industrial automation, electrical & electronics, cloud & data storage, HVAC & commercial, oil/gas/energy, aerospace & defense (ground support), transportation, test systems & equipment, lighting & entertainment, machinery & recreation.
IPC-A-610
Published standard for Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies, governing visual quality criteria for solder joints, wire splices, and mechanical assembly. SPM's wire splicing and soldering operations are trained to IPC-A-610.
Applies to:
Industrial automation, electrical & electronics, cloud & data storage, oil/gas/energy, test systems & equipment, medical-healthcare (non-implantable).
UL-Supported NEMA
SPM produces NEMA 1, 3R, 4, 4X, and 12 enclosures with UL listing supported on a per-project basis. UL labeling is applied at the production stage per customer specification.
Applies to:
Industrial automation, electrical & electronics, cloud & data storage, oil/gas/energy, HVAC & commercial, transportation.
What We Don’t Hold
Scope-honest about the certifications we don’t carry.
Our work focuses on the scope we hold certifications for. For the certifications below, we either partner-refer the controlled portions of a customer program or scope our work explicitly within the non-controlled boundary. Same scope-honest framing appears on each affected industry detail page.
AS9100D · NADCAP · ITAR
SPM is ISO 9001 certified. We do not currently hold AS9100D, NADCAP, or ITAR registration, and our work in this aerospace market focuses on non-flight-critical components: ground support equipment, test fixtures, training equipment cabinets, and aerospace tooling. For programs requiring AS9100, ITAR-controlled exports, or NADCAP special-process accreditation, we can provide the design and manufacturing for non-controlled portions of your bill of materials and partner-refer the controlled portions.
See Aerospace & Defense industry page →ISO 13485
SPM is ISO 9001 certified. We do not currently hold ISO 13485, and we do not manufacture FDA Class II or Class III medical devices. Our medical work focuses on non-implantable, non-patient-contact equipment: medical equipment cabinets, mobile carts, rack systems, sterilization-compatible enclosures, and chassis for diagnostic and laboratory equipment. For projects requiring ISO 13485-certified manufacturing, we can refer.
See Medical Equipment industry page →IATF 16949
SPM is ISO 9001 certified. Our transportation work focuses on rail, transit, and fleet aftermarket fabrication — sheet metal components, brackets, equipment enclosures, and chassis for non-DOT-safety-critical applications. We do not currently hold automotive-specific certifications (IATF 16949) and do not manufacture safety-critical automotive components. For automotive OEM programs requiring IATF 16949, we can refer.
See Transportation industry page →ANSI/ESD S20.20
SPM is ISO 9001 certified. For applications requiring ESD-controlled assembly environments, we can support partial ESD precautions but do not currently hold formal ANSI/ESD S20.20 certification. For full ESD-certified manufacturing, we can refer.
