Punching is the most efficient and cost-effective method for adding holes and forms in parts and is ideal for large runs of parts that contain lots of features. At SPM, our machines can produce a variety of holes, countersinks, embossments, louvers, and other formed features.
We have the capability to produce quality parts with intricate features and hole patterns. Our automated turrets can process complex parts with high-speed precision, which lowers costs and lead times.
Laser cutting is ideal for highly complex parts that require precise dimensions and cuts, and the ability to cut intricate shapes can also eliminate the need for additional operations. Laser cutting also causes no damage or warping – even to thin materials – and offers precise holes and edges.
Our laser department is fully automated with loading and unloading capabilities that enable us to offer lights-out automation. We also have an experienced Engineering team that uses nesting to increase sheet utilization, which results in less waste and lower costs.
Forming is an essential part of sheet metal manufacturing, and SPM has the capability to handle any of your forming needs. We are continually investing in state-of-the-art machines, especially those that are capable of automatically changing their own tooling (ATCs), which saves time and money for our customers. Our forming department also includes more than 20 manual press brakes, with experienced operators that are capable of producing very complex, tight-tolerance parts.
